Aves Argentina launches new grants program: deadline 31 July, 2009

Conserve Argentina” is a new initiative of Aves Argentinas, together with Birdlife International and diverse partners, that includes a grants program designed to stimulate the conservation of biodiversity and populations of birds at risk of extinction in Argentina’s Important Bird Areas (IBAs). In this inaugural round, the program will fund as many as 10 projects (in full or in part) with up to $15,000 pesos. Eligible project areas include: Conservation-related management in IBAs; conservation actions and planning; research directly tied to conservation; and environmental education actions.

The deadline for submitting a proposal is 31 July, 2009. Applications and guidelines are available online at the Aves Argentinas Website. Successful applicants will be notified in October 2009.
